Simple Interest Formula

Simple Interest = (Principal × Rate × Time) ÷ 100

Principal = original amount
Rate = annual interest rate in percent
Time = time in years

Interest rate: 6%
Time: 3 years
Simple interest: (5,000 × 6 × 3) ÷ 100 = $900
